My thoughts.

Now the idea of “The Gallows” all takes place when I was young. I always enjoyed playing simple games as a child. Simple games like what you’d find in the 2600. I’ve always loved MS-Dos and TUI environments. Anyone can make a Hangman type of game, but no one can really add an interesting storyline to it. I always had a fascination with the types of games that required thinking with little to no graphics. I’m the sorta guy who believes graphics don’t matter and the only graphics card that matters is your brain. I’m a product of another time, born during a time seen as advanced beyond the said time I am actually from. By that I mean I was playing 2600 like a maniac when the SNES hit the scene and everyone thought I was strange for doing so like I didn’t follow the herd.

I honestly love the idea of Hangman, it’s a great educational tool to help those improve their vocabulary. Now I know I sound like I’m completely off the rails at this point, like why would someone such as myself put so much work and time into a variation of a Hangman game? Well, that’s because I just love the complex process behind it all. Though on the surface it’s a basic guessing game. But underneath its many layers of until you get to the winning guess. Though the most common letters used in a standard game of Hangman are ” e-t-a-o-i-n-s-h-r-d-l-u “. Which in many of my short videos you’ll see me use a combination. Though, I mostly fail that’s because I have a word bank of just over 460,000 words. Though I am currently working on other word banks for many other subjects. Like for holidays and historical figures and all that fun stuff.

The Hike Through the Ruins

We are on the cusp of extinction and must do whatever we can in order to preserve our technological legacy. We need to in the hopes of when the future generations. The Earth has been in existence for billions of years and humanity has only been around for a few hundred thousand years. We don’t know for sure just how many times humanity has rebooted from the dawn of our inception. Everything must be protected and that’s why I have taken it upon myself to preserve “Text User Interface” software from the chance of absolute collapse of society.

It can happen with a matter of a few days or it can happen within the next decade. The world around us is always changing and if that means I must protect my software and the software of the world so be it. Every waking moment we are finding ourselves moving further away from the road of sanity and becoming one with technology and finding ourselves lost in a loop created by paranoia and the thirst for ending life with a push of a button. As the big tech companies now are holding everyone hostage by selling such outdated software and spying on the mass public with little to no respect for the user. Every day the big three of spying on our locations, what we spend, and what we use. It’s even gotten to the point where they are even monitoring what we are watching or shopping for and crafting ads for us in the hopes of us buying the junk they produce that is brought to the market at such low prices because of slave labor. Apple is notorious for this crime and they should be put on trial for they’re heinous acts against humanity. But they never will because the governing bodies of the world could care less about slave labor. All they want to know is what videos you like to watch and what items you put into your cart on Amazon.

We must be doing our best in protecting our technological legacy by any means necessary. We must work on this as a whole in the understanding that at any moment the big three can and will shut down anything they deem as a threat to their existence. Who will join me in my crusade in keeping software functional during the days of nuclear winter? This is my stance towards protecting those who create software for the greater good of humanity.

THE NUCLEAR FALLOUT FROM THE SALAD BAR OF LIFE.

The changes needed in saving oneself during a harsh period of time means that everyone must sacrifice what they have so they can live just a little bit longer. We are faced with such challenges and those who have families will do whatever they take to prevent anything happening and do others who have pets and etc etc etc.

We are on the cusp of something big happening to us all. Now, you may assume that I’m being paranoid and you can think whatever you want. But the truth is everything has become trash. Life now seems like a struggle even with all the advancements in technology that we have at our disposal. A lot of people want a better life, a better opportunity to survive in this ever-growing hectic world, and well that’s why I do what I do. I’m here trying to create something that will survive the test of time with the lowest requirements necessary to survive any kind of technological emergency.

With the way everything is going we must protect our technological footprint from all means of sabotage by weapons that can and will send us back to the stone age. I have taken it upon myself in creating an ark of sorts. In the best means of protecting my work for future generations. Protecting the English language just in case when the world comes to an end. In the hopes of preserving the future in case of some sorta Fallout type scenario. I am also working on a capsule of sorts protecting my legacy which I am currently designing. These posts are by means of a documented map of sorts. In the hopes of bringing about some sort of sanity in a world gone crazy.

The Gallows

I’ve always had an obsession with the most basic of software, the most basic means of existing in a world like ours, and how much I look into the world around me I start to see just how really screwed up our lives are. I’ve spent the better half of my life working on projects, projects that have seen just a glimmer of daylight. I’ve had dreams of where I was able to venture into the great beyond. I have strange thoughts sometimes, some strange beliefs as well. Sure there’s a million better ways to do what I do, but I honestly love the past and love the means of how we use to do things.

First of all I love programming, I love crafting software that can be used either by myself or by however many. I’ve always loved the very thought of the days of programming from about thirty or so years ago. The very concept of programming in basic and making something the size of a few seconds of an MP3 or less than that of a movie file. The solid background with a font in a color that is either relaxing or harmful to the eyes.

The very idea of Hangman was an idea I loved all to well. A game where the life of a fictional person is either going to live or die. This concept in my opinon is more terrifying then any other mechanic in the games today. When I was young I would play the 2600 and wander about either saving the day, accumlating a high score, or worse…dying.

I’m not really that old myself, I was just raised in a very old manner. I can’t really describe it but let me put it this way. Imagine growing up as a child in today’s world and while everyone is playing the latest console or a VR headset your playing Wii. It’s almost like that. Now, you either know what I’m talking about or you don’t and that’s fine but when I was a child in the early ninties it was something magical. Now that I have kids and here I am following my oddball type of dreams I feel like I need to keep a log of my journey’s for my children. So they won’t forget just the type of man that I am. Because let’s face it lifes was too short and anything can happen.

So that’s why I’m doing this! That’s why I’m doing what I can in documenting this voyage into the unknown. Hand formatting every word I can get myself a hold of and keeping everything in a single C++ file. Sure it’ll be slow at times but so be it. It is my nod to the world that I once knew and loved.
